SaaS Operations Team Lead

Qualus Digital Solutions specializes in Secure and Sustainable Grid Integration, helping the electric industry keep the lights on in the face of increased frequency of cyber-attacks, intensity of natural disasters, and penetration of renewable and distributed energy resources. Qualus Digital Solutions team is creating a growing suite of SaaS applications for helping our customers adapt to the rapid change in the electric industry and are currently seeking a highly organized detail oriented SaaS Operations Team Leader. The position will be fully remote. 

 

• Work in close partnership and collaboration with a diverse set of cross-functional teams, including DevOps, product development, and customer support teams.
• Architect and design secure and scalable solutions on AWS following the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Support sales and product teams to integrate client and stakeholder business requirements into technical solutions.
• Oversee the successful production operations of Qualus SaaS solutions for clients, ensuring on-time delivery and high-quality results.
• Project manage the progressive deployment of SaaS offerings including monitoring, controlling and guiding successful creation and completion of project management activities for SaaS commercialization.
• Provide AWS technical expertise and guidance to other team members.
• Coordinate planning and execute solution deployments, supporting client project deployment, monitor system environments, implement operational requirements (e.g., security, disaster recovery, etc.), and related activities.
• Responsible for SLAs and contractual requirements related to Qualus production SaaS offerings as well as being able to communicate these with stakeholders.
• Coordinate with corporate security teams on compliance and governance including SOC monitoring, security vulnerability management, remediation, incident management, and security reporting.
• Manage 24 x 7 x 365 multi-tier customer support team and coordinate response from infrastructure, software, or security teams.
• Coordinate heightened support levels/hours during deployments, managing deployment schedule, customer milestones, etc.
• Work with stakeholders to establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs). Design and implement plans for improvement in KPIs.
• Keep up-to-date with AWS services and industry trends to drive innovation and competitiveness.
• Manage budgets effectively, optimizing resource allocation to meet business objectives.
• Work with highly experienced electric industry and power systems experts from Qualus Digital Solutions and our partners.
• This requires clear communication and collaborative problem solving between our applications team and our utility consultants.

• Is curious and enjoys learning new methods and technologies while shipping quality solutions.

Minimum requirements include:
- 5+ years of experience implementing secure, enterprise-class SaaS solutions using AWS
- Demonstrated experience in successful operations managment of a commercial production SaaS offering
- Strong understanding of AWS core services and best practices
- Can work remotely with a team spread across US timezones
- Ability to make tradeoff decisions with regard to cost, security, and deployment complexity given a set of application requirements
- Demonstrated teamwork, professional ethics, and customer focus
- Proficient in English with good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- US citizen or permanent resident currently residing in the US
Preferred requirements include:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Certified with AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
- Certified with AWS Certified Security – Specialty
- Working knowledge of security frameworks (e.g. SOC II, NIST, ISO 27000)
